Hockey ... A taste of home

Sunday Morning and Zeric is ready with his camera for the Hockey game later that night.
Dad was having fun with Zeric's hair while teaching Zeric how to say "1...2....3!!" while holding the camera up to your face. so funny because the way he say "1.2.3" is more like " da... doo.. deeeeee !"
It's amazing how he always falls asleep on Dad's shoulder and almost never on moms' ! but we need him rested up before the big game !
Zeric and Dad at a Hockey game in Australia. When we walked in the Ice Rink it reminded me (Amy) of the Lake Arrowhead Ice Castle. Made me a little home sick for the snow and Ice ! oyes and Hockey. I had no clue there were this many people that even like the sport , because they never play it on T.V. and you never hear of any sort of hockey... ever. So when James decided to take us, I couldn't wait to see !
The three of us getting ready to cheer for the home team... Newcastle North Stars vs. Sydney Bears. They had 3 special guest from the NHL, two players from the Penguins and I didn't catch the third Player over the cheap loud speaker and the woman's voice and the people screaming "Aussie Aussie Aussie !!! Oie Oie Oie !!! " It just added to the excitement of really seeing a HOCKEY game down unda !
Zeric has a new found thing for my vest buttons ... what ever keeps the little man happy i guess ;)
To think that a few NHL players are kicking some Ice on this little chunk of Ice down under was so cool.
I have told myself I will not let Zeric eat Nasty food little take away joints , but I KNOW one fry will not hurt !! It made him so happy and for some reason he got so into the game once he had a fry in his hand. He's such a little Hockey player by heart .... hee hee
Well the 3rd period hit Zeric hard ! Ask me how he slept through the whole period and many screams and horns and buzzers ? I have not a clue. He woke up when we finally scored in the shoot out. I'll tell you what !!! a shoot out is worth a million words.
Here's the only picture that wasn't too blurry out of the hundreds we took. The game was so much fun and Newcastle won 2-1 to the Sydney in the shoot out. It was so funny to hear Australia commentators and see people drinking coffee and being so low key compared to the American folks . Jenn, I think they need a little help in the cheering section... would you like to help ???
But all and all it was great and to see and hear that Australians love the sport just as much as I do. It's just more of an underground event at the moment. Maybe one day they will get the support they need !! Aussie Aussie Aussie !! Oie Oie Oie !!!

Mama Dixie and Rich part 2

Yes that's our Son getting ready to put Tiger in his Hole !!
There's Rich swimming in Merewether Baths, Just down the street from our house. Australia has this thing where they make over sized cement pools at the beach and fill them with ocean water. I like... love them because there's no SHARKS in them.
Like father like son, James and Zeric out for a walk along the beach in Newcastle
Easter morning Zeric ponders about why a bunny gives away chocolate eggs
oh who cares, he loves the chocolate and that's all that matters
James took this photo and I love it, he's saying so much just with his eyes.
oh crap ! he worked out I was the Easter bunny at such a young age
Zeric and his really cool PLASTIC Easter eggs, Mom , Rich and James helped me hide the eggs. I put two or thee in the middle of the floor while Rich went overboard with his hiding. I think I just found one yesterday and Easter was almost 2 months ago... ha ha ha.
Mom and Rich In Sydney. You can see the city in the back ground ! I love this place. Now If we had millions of buckaroos ,we would buy a house in Sydney , every time we come down here i see something new and beautiful.
Rich, Mama Dixie, Mama Noelene and Colin (gramps ) after and amazing diner on the Harbour of Newcastle. My mom will tell you if you ever come out here to get the sea food. It is so amazing and fresh!! Mom's favorite is the fish and chips or the salt and pepper squid ... mine too
yes, leave it to a little boy to turn a place of eating into a monster truck track... broom broom
This is Birubi Beach about 30 minutes north of our home. These sand dunes seem to go on for ever ! they have camels, 4x4 , Shark fishing , dirt biking , ATV (that's what I like to call training wheels ) hee hee and just amazing waters of crystal clear shimmers and sunsets.
Dad and Son moment. I know Zeric loves these moments !! we are up at Nelson bay (Port Stephens) at a little secret beach... Zenith Beach . not so secret anymore I guess
Can you spot Zeric in this moment ?
James catching a TUBE !!! my little boogie boarder (he hates when i say that )
Zeric and Mommy trying to stay out of the sun. It only take 20 minutes and bam !!! you're fried
The Koala that hangs out in our back yard, his name is Gerald and he really doesn't live in our back yard. I just like to look at all of Australia being our back yard. Gerald really lives about 10 minutes away from us
James trying to teach his son about Australian music. James likes to call these hollow sticks a Didge. The real name for these hollow sticks are Didgeridoo . It takes real talent to get the right sound. It makes for fun at family gatherings. p.s. Mama Dixie got it with in one day.
One Last walk around Newcastle with Grandma before she leaves.we have hundreds of photos, but we don't think they would all fit. We love it when Family or Friends come out to visit it us. We love to share the way of Australia and the Food. When we say food, we mean some thing great. Australia has such a wide variety of cultures and everything is so fresh and new. Australia has such amazing history for such a young country.

Mama Dixie and Rich's Visit Down Unda ! SYDNEY

James and I thought we would drop Mom and Rich off at Church while we walked around Hide park. Zeric has a thing for sitting all by him self on a bench in the Park. p.s. Mom and Rich are in Church just to the right of Zeric in that building. They thought it was so cool to take an elevator to church.
James and Zeric at the top of our Hotel... I guess you can call that the Sydney space needle !! or if you're an aussie you can call it centre tower. oya and that's how they spell center down here "re"
Can you spot James ? this is from the top of out Hotel again, It just gets better
One last photo from our Hotel. It looks out over St. Marys and Hide Park. Sydney Is such an amazing city and so clean !!!
Mom and Rich with the Harbour Bridge behind them and yes it's spelled with a U.
Rich bought us lunch at a cute little cafe at circular quay (key) with the Opera House just behind us. The best food !!! Thanks again Rich !
This is of Mom and Rich With St. Marys behind them and a naked guy fighting a half bull half man dude thing.... hot
As for St. Marys, such a beautiful Building. The Most amazing architecture In Australia. They have a Heritage Law where you can't destroy a building because it's old. You can work around, on to or with in them. So you will see and amazing old building built in 1874 and there will be a brand new modern 2008 building on top of it. I get a kick out of it.
Sydney is such an amazing city and so clean, they really keep this country clean and fresh. I hope I can get some more visitors soon.

Welcome

Hey Everyone

Well we thought seeing as though we are not friends with everyone we know on Facebook, nor do we have everyone's email, we decided to start a blog. We thought it would be the best way for everyone to keep track of what we are doing and how Zeric is growing in one place and one format, provided we don't get lazy - which is a possibility.

So sit back, relax and enjoy what it is us and our life.
